Graduació de la 13a promoció del GNMI

El passat 30 de juny es va celebrar l’acte acadèmic de graduació de la 13a promoció del Grau en Negocis i Màrqueting Internacionals a L’Auditori de Barcelona.
Last week, the BDBI alumni Marta Ibáñez and Aina Montalban were the last guest speakers of the term of Introduction to Bioinformatics talks.
Both graduated in 2020. While in the BDBI, Marta Ibáñez did her internship at Cambridge, where she studied pregnancy aetiology. Aina Montalban chose the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute to study cancer epigenetics.
After graduating, Marta did two master’s degrees (Genetics and Genomics at UB and Translational Biomedical Research at VHIR), and Aina started working as a Bioinformatics specialist at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.
During her presentation, Marta Ibañez spoke about the PhD she began this year at VHIR, which focuses on liver diseases. She explained to the students the path she followed before enrolling in the PhD journey.
Aina Montalban shared her day-a-day life at a clinical lab in the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. She explained how a lab processes and analyzes patients’ samples to obtain a conclusive diagnosis and delve into the data flow features they use. She also pointed out briefly about the master’s in Data Science she is currently studying at UPC.
The alumni mentioned the most helpful BDBI courses for their professional experiences and which bits of knowledge they acquired during the degree they still use on a daily basis.

Graduació del BDBI: celebrant l’èxit de la Bioinformàtica

El passat 4 de juliol, es va celebrar la graduació de la setena promoció del Grau en Bioinformàtica a la sala d’actes d’ESCI-UPF, un comiat que va representar el tancament d’una etapa tant per als alumnes com per a la institució, que d’aquesta manera ha posat el punt i final a la gestió del grau després de 10 anys.
Rècord de participació a la 3a edició de NetWork ESCI-UPF

La 3a edició de NetWork ESCI-UPF, celebrada el passat dijous 29 de maig, ha estat tot un èxit i ja es pot dir que ha batut rècords! L’edició d’enguany ha estat l’edició amb més participació, amb més de 150 alumnes assistents que van omplir el hall i la primera planta de la universitat buscant oportunitats per al seu futur professional.
