The first Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiative between ESCI-UPF and ESB Reutlingen wrapped up this December.
The International Relations Office launches the Coffee Break project, aiming to strengthen the relationship between regular and exchange students at ESCI-UPF.
Since ESCI-UPF welcomes a large group of international students every year, the International Relations Office wanted to create more bonding experiences between all the students: that is why born Coffee Break.
This project will gather people in pairs, a local and an international student, to speak and be part of a language exchange. In other words, you will practice a language while drinking a coffee and chatting with someone!
The languages practised will be the ones studied at ESCI-UPF:
Arabic
Chinese
French
German
Japanese
Russian
Starting on 30th January, the meetings will be held at the ESCI-UPF bar every two weeks following the time availabilities of the participants. The university will invite you to a cup of coffee or any other non-alcoholic drink you might like during the language exchange.
As a regular ESCI-UPF student, you would have the opportunity to practice and improve the language you choose with a native speaker and, at the same time, meet people who come from the universities you could go to as an outgoing student. So, when you think about studying abroad, you will already have an idea of what you might encounter.
As an exchange student, you will have the opportunity to meet more regular students and practice the language of the country you visit.
If you are interested in participating in the Coffee Break project, fill out this form. Moreover, you can contact the International Relations Office if you have any questions about the procedure or anything related to the project.
We hope you join us on this project so that we can add more activities that amplify the bonds between international and local students in the future.
