Building on the success of its first run, the International Relations Office at ESCI-UPF is thrilled to announce the return of the Coffee Break project. This initiative fosters enriched interactions between regular and exchange students, through linguistic and cultural exchanges.

The first edition of the Coffee Break project, which took place the last academic year, proved to be a resounding success. Its simple yet engaging format allowed ESCI-UPF’s diverse student body to mingle and learn from each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Encouraged by the positive feedback, the International Relations Office is organizing a second edition with some enhancements to make the experience even more rewarding and enjoyable.

The project will officially kick off on October 16. This time, the language exchanges will occur in small groups to foster a broader interaction and offer participants a more dynamic learning environment. The sessions will be held every 15 days, providing ample opportunities for students to engage in language practice and cultural exchange.

The language offerings remain as diverse as in the previous edition:

  • Arabic

  • Chinese

  • French

  • German

  • Japanese

  • Russian

These sessions will happen at the ESCI-UPF bar, where participants can enjoy a coffee –or any other non-alcoholic drink– on the house while immersing themselves in stimulating linguistic exchanges.

Students interested in participating have to sign up for this form before October 13. They could address the International Relations Office for any queries or additional information about the project.

The Coffee Break initiative is not merely about learning a new language; it’s about building connections, understanding different cultures, and making lasting friendships.

We warmly invite both regular and exchange students to seize this opportunity. Remember to fill out the registration form and embark on a journey of linguistic exploration and global friendship. Your cup of coffee awaits!
