The students from the Master of Science in International Business went on a one-day visit trip to the headquarters of the coffee producers Cafès Novell and the winemakers Covides on the 23rd of May.
At Cafès Novell, Manel Ortiz, Head of International Sales, and Manel Batet, Training and Communication Manager, gave the group a presentation on the strategic positioning of the company and its international operations. The session reviewed the history of Cafès Novell from its first penetration to international markets in the nineties to its nowadays well-established presence in Italy, UK, Hong Kong or China via subsidiaries, joint ventures and distribution agreements.
Having attended an on-campus session devoted to the case-study of Covides. The visit to Covides was led by Christophe Marquet, its export manager. Students had the opportunity to widen their knowledge about the international strategy of the company and visit the winery on-site. The visit included a walk through the cellar and a wine tasting experience. Covides is the leader of cooperative wine production in Catalunya. Today, 55% of the bottles of wine they produce are exported to more than 30 different countries.
Two months ago, the students of the Master of Science in International Business (MScIB) had the opportunity to learn more about the Port de Barcelona strategy at a conference of its Deputy Director, Santiago Garcia-Milà, at ESCI-UPF. Yesterday, they enjoyed a boat trip to see its installations and facilities.
The Master of Science in International Business, offered jointly by UPF’s Department of Economics and Business, ESCI-UPF and UPF-Barcelona School of Management, has been ranked 45th in the category of International Management by the EdUniversal Best Masters Ranking 2022.
The 10th edition of the Master of Science in International Business (MScIB) reaches its final stages with a recognition for its quality and achievements: the AMBA accreditation for MBMs (Master’s in Business Management).
